​Pianist  Jane Kim

Pianist Jane Kim was born in Orange County, CA. The following year, her family moved to Korea where she remained until her completion of junior high school. Jane started her piano lessons at the age of five and was awarded numerous awards and performances from the age of ten. After her return to the United States, she continued her piano studies at Thornton school of music at USC and Eastman school of music where she received her bachelor and master’s degree in piano performance.

 

In California, she has been a prize winner in several SYMF competitions, Bach Festivals, MTNA and CAPMT competitions. She has actively performed in many areas in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Maine and New York and she also had her recitals in South Korea and Germany. Teachers that she had master classes with are Daniel Pollack from USC, Menahem Pressler from Indiana University, and Martin Canin from Julliard School of music.

 

Alongside being a solo artist, Mrs. Kim has been actively playing and performing as a chamber musician and an accompanist. Also, she works as a church musician and an
educator. As an active member of Music Teachers Association of California, Mrs. Kim teaches piano in her studio in La Crescenta and has been teaching many students and helping them to become exceptional musicians. Her students have entered and won prizes at numerous competitions such as SYMF, Young Artist music festival, and Orange County Piano Competition. Also, she gives a studio recital annually to
encourage students. Mrs. Kim is very passionate in her teaching that she loves to help each student to learn how to enjoy the music based on their ages, levels, characters, and skills.
